The Right Place Belief

Do you think we all think that there is a right place? I personally believe we all believe there is a right place, whether we think we do or not.

Here's some examples that we all believe there is a right place:

  1. We look for the right place to work.

  2. Most of us try to find the right location for our homes.

  3. We move when we feel the location we chose is right.

  4. We sometimes search for the right city in which to live.

  5. We look for the right place to raise our children.

  6. We look for the right school to take our children.

  7. We go to different websites to find a site where we can essentially find everything we need. We make those sites our favorites.

  8. Sometimes we go nowhere believing that the place in which we are is the right place. We are anticipatory.

  9. Singles look for the right place to meet someone.

  10. Engaged couples look for the right place to get married.

  11. Spiritual people look for the right place to live after death.

These are just a few examples that yes, we do believe there is a right place.

The Right Place -Perspective #6

Here is perspective #6 on being at the right place.

Some people believe that the right place is where material things are. The right place for these people is where they see prosperity, wealth, and success, and an even better word, an abundance. As along as there is plenty in sight and they feel that the plenty is obtainable, these individuals feel that they are in the right place. I will call these people materialists.

The Right Place - Perspective #5

Here is perspective #5 on being in the right place.

Some people believe that the right place is where the right people are. Those individuals like to socialize. So I will call them socializers. As long as there are great people around them, then the socializers feel at home. However, if the right people aren't where they are, these individuals will travel to places where it appears that the right people gather. With that perspective then, I think it depends on who you mean by right people? If the "right people" are single men for example, then a single woman, in search of Mr. Right, can go to the "right place" and find Mr. Right. However, after she's found him, she's still presumably in the place where there are many single people still looking. So now then is Mrs. Married to Mr. Right in the right place still if she stays there since she and her husband are now surrounded mainly by single people looking for their Mr. or Ms. Right? Thus, my point: the idea that the right place is where the right people are depends on who you are seeking.

The Right Place - Perspective #4

Here is perspective #4 on being at the right place:

Some people believe that there is no one right place but instead there are right places. These people I would like to call the travelers. The travelers are similar to the changers because they believe that there are multiple places that can be right. Yet unlike the changers, the travelers will simply travel to the various right places, obtain what those right places have for them, and then they will return home, which they also feel is a right place. So for example, a couple may feel that one city is the right place to raise their children, but it is not the right place to vacation. They vacation somewhere else but they live in the right place to raise their children, which place they consider home.

The Right Place - Perspective # 3

Here is perspective #3 on being at the right place.

Some people believe that the right place changes. They will change jobs, change homes, change locations, change careers, and perhaps change spouses. They, like the seekers, tend to believe that the right place is not where they are. These people I will call the changers. Unlike the seekers, however, the changers will permanently move so that they can be in the right place. But doesn't that go against the very idea that the right place changes? But perhaps not.

The Right Place - Perspective # 2 - The Changers

(c) 2008 All rights reserved

Here is perspective #2 on being at the right place:

Some people believe the right place is some place where they are not. They believe that if the right place were where they are presently, they would have seen the opportunities and seized them. Because they do not see any opportunities at their present location, they tend to search other places to find the right place for them. These people I will call the seekers.

The Right Place - Perspective # 1

As I mentioned in my previous posts, success has a formula. The first element or step of success is being at the right place. In my last blog, I said that being in the right place depends on the perspective you have about what and where the right place is. I want to explore each one of these perspectives on the right. So let's explore perspective #1.

Perspective #1 - Some people believe that the right place is wherever you are. Those people believe that there are opportunities right in front of them that they can and cannot see. They believe, however, that if someone/something/or even themselves would turn on the light so they could see these opportunities, they would seize all the now-seen opportunities. These people I would like to call the seers. The seers take advantage of most situations that are presented to them. And because they do that, the right place is where they are.
