The Right Place Belief

Do you think we all think that there is a right place? I personally believe we all believe there is a right place, whether we think we do or not.

Here's some examples that we all believe there is a right place:

  1. We look for the right place to work.

  2. Most of us try to find the right location for our homes.

  3. We move when we feel the location we chose is right.

  4. We sometimes search for the right city in which to live.

  5. We look for the right place to raise our children.

  6. We look for the right school to take our children.

  7. We go to different websites to find a site where we can essentially find everything we need. We make those sites our favorites.

  8. Sometimes we go nowhere believing that the place in which we are is the right place. We are anticipatory.

  9. Singles look for the right place to meet someone.

  10. Engaged couples look for the right place to get married.

  11. Spiritual people look for the right place to live after death.

These are just a few examples that yes, we do believe there is a right place.

The Right Place -Perspective #6

Here is perspective #6 on being at the right place.

Some people believe that the right place is where material things are. The right place for these people is where they see prosperity, wealth, and success, and an even better word, an abundance. As along as there is plenty in sight and they feel that the plenty is obtainable, these individuals feel that they are in the right place. I will call these people materialists.

The Right Place - Perspective #5

Here is perspective #5 on being in the right place.

Some people believe that the right place is where the right people are. Those individuals like to socialize. So I will call them socializers. As long as there are great people around them, then the socializers feel at home. However, if the right people aren't where they are, these individuals will travel to places where it appears that the right people gather. With that perspective then, I think it depends on who you mean by right people? If the "right people" are single men for example, then a single woman, in search of Mr. Right, can go to the "right place" and find Mr. Right. However, after she's found him, she's still presumably in the place where there are many single people still looking. So now then is Mrs. Married to Mr. Right in the right place still if she stays there since she and her husband are now surrounded mainly by single people looking for their Mr. or Ms. Right? Thus, my point: the idea that the right place is where the right people are depends on who you are seeking.

The Right Place - Perspective #4

Here is perspective #4 on being at the right place:

Some people believe that there is no one right place but instead there are right places. These people I would like to call the travelers. The travelers are similar to the changers because they believe that there are multiple places that can be right. Yet unlike the changers, the travelers will simply travel to the various right places, obtain what those right places have for them, and then they will return home, which they also feel is a right place. So for example, a couple may feel that one city is the right place to raise their children, but it is not the right place to vacation. They vacation somewhere else but they live in the right place to raise their children, which place they consider home.

The Right Place - Perspective # 3

Here is perspective #3 on being at the right place.

Some people believe that the right place changes. They will change jobs, change homes, change locations, change careers, and perhaps change spouses. They, like the seekers, tend to believe that the right place is not where they are. These people I will call the changers. Unlike the seekers, however, the changers will permanently move so that they can be in the right place. But doesn't that go against the very idea that the right place changes? But perhaps not.

The Right Place - Perspective # 2 - The Changers

(c) 2008 All rights reserved

Here is perspective #2 on being at the right place:

Some people believe the right place is some place where they are not. They believe that if the right place were where they are presently, they would have seen the opportunities and seized them. Because they do not see any opportunities at their present location, they tend to search other places to find the right place for them. These people I will call the seekers.

The Right Place - Perspective # 1

As I mentioned in my previous posts, success has a formula. The first element or step of success is being at the right place. In my last blog, I said that being in the right place depends on the perspective you have about what and where the right place is. I want to explore each one of these perspectives on the right. So let's explore perspective #1.

Perspective #1 - Some people believe that the right place is wherever you are. Those people believe that there are opportunities right in front of them that they can and cannot see. They believe, however, that if someone/something/or even themselves would turn on the light so they could see these opportunities, they would seize all the now-seen opportunities. These people I would like to call the seers. The seers take advantage of most situations that are presented to them. And because they do that, the right place is where they are.

The Success Formula - Right Place - Part 1

(c) 2008 All rights reserved.

I've mentioned that success has a formula. I'm convinced of that. I also mentioned that I'm exploring each element of The Success Formula individually and revealing each element of success individually to you as I study them.

So now the time has come: The first success step in the Success Formula is the right place. We've all heard the old saying that you've got to be in the right place at the right time. But what does that really mean? Where exactly is the right place?

When I thought about what the right place is and where the right place is, I realized that there are several different perspectives on those two questions. My first set of posts will be dedicated to exploring those different perspectives so stay tuned.

The Right Place - Perspective #7

Here is perspective # 7 on being at the right place.

Some people believe that the right place is where there is lack or where things could be. That might seem weird but where others see only lack, these individuals see plenty regardless - so even if they live in place where there is little, they see that lack as opportunity. They believe that because there aren't a lot of things in a given location, they can bring those things to that place and then build prosperity, wealth and success. They know the principles of supply and demand. So they supply the needs of the people who have been living in the place of lack. I will call those people opportunists.

The Success Formula - The Elements - Part 2

I mentioned previously that The Success Formula has different elements. I believe that I was inspired to come up with each different element. So here's the first secret to The Success Formula:

Just like Steven Covey's book, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, The Success Formula I am exploring has seven elements. There is not just one thing that will cause success in your life. Instead, it is a combination of things that cause people to be successful. Though I think I've always believed that there was just this one thing that causes success. I also thought that only certain people had that "one thing" and that I didn't have the one thing. I also thought that this one thing was immutable, meaning you are born with it. Thus, you either have that one thing or you don't.

What I learned is that those beliefs are false: there is not this one element that causes success. Certain people do do and have certain elements that cause them to be successful but it's not just one element. It's a combination of elements just as 1 + 1 = 2. I also discovered that I learned the individual elements that cause success. Yes, I learned them. Because I learned what those elements were, those elements were not immutable. Those things could instead be instilled, taught, learned, and will eventually be inherent with practice.

I think that these seven elements, when combined, will cause success and prosperity. Now just as 1 + 1 = 2, I believe The Success Formula will cause success in my life. I'm really looking forward to implementing this formula in my life and seeing its results. I hope you are too.

The Success Formula - Elements - Part 1

In my first blog, I introduced The Success Formula and explained what prompted me to start this blog. Since I am still exploring whether The Success Formula is working in my life, I won't disclose the whole Success Formula yet. The first thing I will tell you though is that The Success Formula has different elements. Every formula has different elements as in 1 + 1 = 2. So I was inspired to come up with these different elements to The Success Formula. These elements, when combined, I believe will lead to the same result. For me, the result I'm looking for is success. So I want to add elements, remove elements, and perfect the elements to get the right combination. But my posts will eventually reveal The Success Formula I'm exploring so keep reading.

The Success Formula Introduction

(c) 2008 All rights reserved

I got the idea for The Success Formula Blog when I was sending out promotional material on MySpace.com. This formula came to mind after realizing for example the power of networking. I gave people the formula to admonish people in the music business that there is a formula for success. I personally don't believe there is one formula; I believe there are formulae. The key is finding the formula or formulae that work for you. Yet no matter what formula you choose, I believe there are certain rules, principles, laws, or fundamentals of success. It is these rules, principles, laws and/or fundamentals of success that I intend to study and share as I embark on my own personal success journey.

Mind you, I am successful now. But like all first born, overachievers, I want to obtain more success in my life. I have hit a certain plateau in my life and now I want to achieve, accomplish, and have more than I do right now. I believe that is is possible. I believe it is obtainable. So I embark. I'm embarking first by using my own formula that I will mention and see how this formula works in my life. Join me if you will (:-)
